Classified as a property of public interest since 1986, the Roman Bridge of Tavira over the Gil\u00e3o River is a stone masonry structure with 7 masonry arches, spanning 86m in length and measuring 6.45m in width. On December 3, 1989, a major flood struck the city of Tavira, causing severe damage to the bridge. One of the upstream breakwaters was nearly destroyed, and two of the arches were heavily damaged. The comprehensive rehabilitation intervention included consolidating the foundations through masonry injection, introducing micro-piles, rebuilding the breakwater and arches, constructing a reinforced concrete layer within the masonry, and overall improvement of the structure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":1337,"template":"","categoria-de--projet":[36,41],"class_list":["post-1223","projeto","type-projeto","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria-de--projet-bridges-and-viaducts","categoria-de--projet-footbridges"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nRoman bridge over the Gil\u00e3o River -
