Barceló Hotel

The Barceló Old Town Hotel is a historic and charming 5-star hotel located in the centre of Funchal, with a basement, a ground floor and five high floors. Its construction resulted from the incorporation of a set of eight old buildings dating from the 17th to the 20th century, which were integrated into one, a structural unit built using reinforced concrete masonry, steel and concrete structure. This was achieved through collaborative efforts with local design companies. This project is a benchmark for hotel interventions in the historic centre of Funchal, being a pioneer in the rehabilitation of an ensemble.
